Funding Uses & Timeline:

Many of the threats mentioned throughout this site to Turneffe Atoll are still in the early stages but they are escalating rapidly.  Therefore, significant action is needed immediately. 

Research to establish accurate parameters for sustainable commercial fishing and sustainable tourism development are essential and needed immediately.

Educational materials, including a documentary film, to help educate the public, the Government of Belize and the permitting agencies have been completed.

Funding for other needs, listed in the FOTA Action Plan section of the site, will be on going.
